Research

  • Research and integrate medical and nursing literature as it relates to the medical facts and issues of the case
  • Conduct literature searches for information concerning medical issues about the injury, and integrate the literature and standards/guidelines into the case analysis
  • Conduct literature searches of authored work by plaintiff or defense experts
  • Research time relevant medical data as it relates to the case
  • Research follow-up references listed in the bibliography of articles
  • Assist in obtaining experts from literature searches
  • Research health care personnel’s credentials to include background information, certifications, licensure data, records of sanctions, or disciplinary actions taken against provider
  • Review relevant medical records, hospital policies and procedures, and other essential documents that may be needed to assist the attorney in further developing the case

  • Identify and obtain Standards of Care that apply to the case and note compliance with or deviation from those standards
